Which HiPP formula should I use?
There are different HiPP formulas for different stages of your child's development. HiPP stage 1 formula is ideal for infants 0-6 months old, while stage 2 is ideal for babies 6-12 months. Finally, stage 3 is ideal for toddlers 12+ months old.
All of HiPP's baby formula, including HiPP Dutch and UK, are manufactured in Germany. The only difference between these products is that while HiPP German is both manufactured and packaged in Germany, HiPP Dutch and UK are both manufactured in Germany but packaged in the Netherlands and United Kingdom respectively.
HiPP Combiotic Stage PRE vs.
The main difference between the two is that organic lactose is the only source of carbohydrates in stage PRE. Whereas stage 1 uses organic lactose and starch. Further, HiPP stage PRE contains L-Phenylalanine whereas stage 1 does not.
Ingredient differences:
There is only one difference between HiPP German 1 & HiPP Dutch 1: HiPP German contains “starch” as an ingredient, whereas HiPP Dutch does not.
HiPP Dutch and HiPP German are certified organic. These two formulas significantly exceed all European Union requirements for organic certification. There are no GMOs, sugar, corn syrup in the ingredients. Both formulas are also free from artificial preservatives, hormones, and pesticides.
Similac is the #1 brand of baby formula chosen by hospitals, so there's a good chance that if you're using formula from day one (or even just supplementing), the hospital where you deliver may have some samples to help get you started.
The Bottom Line
Both HiPP Dutch and HiPP UK are healthy options, and the only difference between the two is the addition of starch, probiotics, and prebiotics.
The difference between HiPP Combiotic UK and HiPP Combiotik DE (aside from the way they are spelled) is that the main German Combiotik line contains probiotics. Stage 2 and 3 formulas also contain starch. HiPP UK has no starch and no probiotics.
HiPP AR is suitable for the dietary management of reflux and regurgitation from birth. It can be used as a substitute for or complement to breastmilk.
The Bottom Line
Both HiPP Dutch and HiPP UK are healthy options, and the only difference between the two is the addition of starch, probiotics, and prebiotics.
What is the difference between HiPP ha pre and HiPP HA 1?
There's a lot of confusion surrounding HiPP Stage 1 and HiPP PRE. The only difference between the two formulas is that PRE is designed to be a little gentler on a baby's stomach. It's easier to digest and designed for children with sensitive stomachs that can't handle regular stage 1.
The problem is that these European baby formulas are actually illegal to sell in the U.S., because they're not regulated by the FDA. And without regulation, they pose a real risk to the babies who depend on them.
