....Josh Nicklin's dad (Sean) writes the match reports for u18s and someone asked me last night if I had read the report from the Swindon game - which I hadn't. Whoever it was (sorry I've forgotten) said the first paragraph was brilliant.

it is, it's here and applies to every parent of a hockey player when something special happens - for us it was the first time our boys had ever won in fortress Swindon (since they were u10s!!) but it's just a relevant if its your child getting their first goal or shut out or any other personal milestone.

Just sometimes it all makes sense. We travel thousands of miles to cold damp rinks in faceless towns scattered across the British Isles to watch and play junior hockey. It costs money, ruins marriages and breaks up families, but just sometimes it all makes sense.
