So QF to be played by Jan 10th:

MKL v Panthers
Belfast v Fife
Cardiff v Guildford
Sheffield v Dundee

If we beat Panthers, we’ll play the winners of the Giants v Flyers game

Had a feeling we might pick them..Obviously revenue played a part and good to test ourselves...

The option was going to be Flames or a long midweek trip. So I guess it makes sense.

I thought as the higher seeds we would play the home game second. Why is it the other way round?

I would imagine it would be around ice availability? Not sure though.

A few people are suggesting it was a financial decision, with the thought being by playing the home leg first we are pretty much guaranteed a sell-out crowd from both home and away fans and not risking a reduced crowd if we go to Panthers first and get comprehensively beaten.

Others are suggesting it may be an attempt to strike a psychological blow, as we have been playing much better at home, so hopefully take a lead to Nottingham where we narrowly lost in the league.

Either way, I'm glad it's been arranged for a Friday night and not mid-week, really looking forward to the game now and fingers crossed I'll be able to make the 2nd leg in Nottingham!

I can't see this being sold out to be honest. Cup crowds have been about average this season, and as this one isn't necessarily covered by season tickets, that could be a factor too.

It could be a great opportunity to do kids for a quid or something like that to get the crowds in.

Either way though, it should a cracking game depending on what MK team turn up on the night
