Default Lightning release Karlsson

Not the roster change I was expecting, can only assume they have an imminent signing announcement considering yesterday’s DOPS announcement.

Unfortunately for Ludwig, I think is 100% the right call by Pete. As has been said, it frees up the import slot for us to bring a new defender in and then we can get Kyle back in the forward pack.

Would not have been my first choice.

The fact that I will be collecting my Ludvig Karlsson Christmas replica shirt on Saturday night has not affected my judgement at all ! I hope Ludvig gets a new club soon.

Just hope whoever we sign can stay on the ice, and not live in the Skip !

Anyone got a marker pen I can borrow ?

Feel a bit gutted for Ludwig.
His stats are poor undoubtedly, but still think the King, Karlsson, Isaakson line was the most exciting to watch and had that edge over other teams until injuries hit us, with him and then Christian taking time out. Then with Mele coming in Ludwig ended up on the third line just as Kyle dropped back to D he looked totally isolated.

Unless we're saving the big announcement of a replacement player till tomorrow morning (which makes no sense commercially) at what point do we get nervous that we're releasing guys and no-one is coming in.

I know we're only one player below what we started the season with, but gassing Karlsson only made sense if it was to make room for someone coming in.

If I remember correctly, Sam Godfrey was announced late on a Saturday afternoon before his 1st game. Maybe something similar on a short term basis will happen again.
Or, could PR be waiting for the end of the GB U20 tournament, with a view to contacting Slava about the availability of Ed Knaggs?

Knaggs has been one of the standout players in that U20s team for me. He's been logging a load of ice time and been chipping in with a few points as well.
I'd be very surprised now if we announce anyone before Christmas now, but you never know. We're effectively three imports down for the next two games at least, so it's going to be interesting as to how we get on!

It would be interesting to know what sort of average attendance figure the club have budgeted for ?

Personally, I think the Saturday night crowds have been bigger than I expected, so I will be very disappointed if the team is not strengthened !

As my Dad used to say, "You .have to speculate, in order to accumulate"
