Default Phoenix v MK on Sunday

Can the chairman of MK Lightning supporters club please make contact with me with regard to the game on Sunday in Blackpool.

Either by message on THF or on the Phoenix forum would suffice

Myself and Dave, MK Supporters Club Chairman, Neil Morris and John Neville the MK rink manager all tried our best to get a venue for the streaming. The rink was unavailable due to a Thunder game and no other suitable venue coul be found in time.

Thank you guys for trying to get stream.

MK Fans please take note of @manc_phoenix twitter:

UPDATE @MKL_Official Unfortunately we have been unable to find a suitable premise in MK to stream Sunday game to for you to watch. 1/2
@MKL_Official Due to restricted views at Blackpool we are advising against travelling to us. We apologise for this inconvenience. 2/2

If you do want to see the game MK fans are welcome to the live streaming at Shooters bar, The Bier Keller, Printworks Manchester if they like to watch the match.

What an absolute shambles. Can you imagine this being allowed to happen in any other sport? I admire the dedication of the Phoenix faithful, but it's just ridiculous!!

I would of liked to have seen that, maybe even could of still charged the Thunder ticket price and then could of watched the rest of the Thunder game when the Phoenix v MKL was over. However I believe Thunder must rent out the ice for their games and may not be fair to them.

Phoenix and Lightning looked into the option to stream but unfortunetly didn't have time to sort a stream out in MK.

Pity not a pay to view option but guess that be not enough time to sort either but hopefully something Phoenix is looking into. Steeldogs v Phantoms had a good streaming service last Saturday and believe Telford are doing a pay to view game on Sunday.

The only place unfortunately is Shooters Bar in Manchester to watch the stream at present.

Phoenix recently tweeted and posted on Facebook:-
Don't forget we also take on Milton Keynes Lightning on Sunday! You can watch the game live in Shooters Bar Manchester! It's free for season ticket holders (7.99 other entries). There's 25% off all food and selected drinks, including alcohol. Issues with the live stream have also been fully resolved!

MK Lightning website:-

Club statement re travel to Manchester Phoenix

After taking advice from Manchester Phoenix, Milton Keynes Lightning is taking the extremely rare step of advising supporters not to travel to Sunday’s away fixture.

We are scheduled to play Phoenix on Sunday 18 September at their temporary base of Fylde Ice Arena in Blackpool.

However, on the advice of the Phoenix, we strongly advise fans not to travel to the Blackpool venue.

The issue is one of a severely restricted capacity, meaning that fans who do choose to make the long journey are not guaranteed entry to Fylde Ice Arena on arrival.

Manchester Phoenix are hopeful of being able to stream games on the Internet in the near future and are working hard to resolve capacity problems.

The thing I don't get is why is the advice to MK fans only?

Surely it should be any fans that don't have a ticket. A lot of Phoenix fans will have a decent journey to get to Blackpool - but it doesn't warn them that they might not get in.

They must know how many tickets have been sold - and therefore they should put the "sold out" signs out if they're that concerned

And their website still says tickets can be purchased on the night 😂
