Obviously only members of the Supporters Club are the "real" fans, and should get the opportunity to go to any MKL events! Something like an End Of Season party should be open to ALL fans from the start......the members already get discounted tickets, why should they get first choice in buying the tickets too??

This isn't about "real" fans or not, so i don't want to start that debate at all.
Last year when we held the do at the Jury's Inn, a lot of people weren't sure if it would be a success or not. I think the majority of people who went enjoyed it and enjoyed the location, so this year we are expecting more interest.
As it is organised by the MKLSC, we thought it only fair to give the first opportunity to buy tickets for the event to the SC members. This is a common practice i believe through most events organised by clubs - football clubs give season ticket holders and members first take on match tickets etc, as do some bands too for concerts.
If there is a majority strong feeling against doing this, then we will reconsider it, but we believe it is only fair to give the chance first to people who have joined the SC.

Damned if you do, damned if you don't Dubbsie......
The formula obviously worked last year, so no reason to fix something that ain't broken. ;)

And that's on the SC stand where you can get plenty of other quality products all to help raise funds for the team, to get better players to keep winning and all branded to also advertise the club should you wish to wear it away from the rink!
I'm right behind it all, just wanted to be cheeky.
Dont forget 50 - 50 tickets & Golden goal (both where you can win cash) shirt off his back (where you actually win a shirt) programme and topshelf to read whilst waiting to be served at the bar!
Also clap along with the drums and join in with the chants if you can hear them!

Hey Dubbsie and Mrs Golly,it looks like we have brainwashed Tim!!:D

I tend to agree with Puckakat, does it make me any less of a supporter just because i am not a member? I purchase 50/50 tickets, raffle tickets etc, and yet, after supporting the team all season, there is a possibility that i may not be able to attend the E.O.S awards. I don't see why the supporters club members get first opportunity, seems very unfair to me.!!!

Please, it has nothing to do with real fans, being more or less or whatever of a supporter or anything like that, and i find it frustrating that its being turned into such.
The supporters Club organise the End of Season do, putting in the hours to arrange a venue, securing a good deal with them, getting the tickets printed etc etc, so as such we feel that Supporters Club members should have the first opportunity to purchase tickets.
As i have said in an earlier post and will re-emphisise now, if feelings are against this then we as a committee will re-discuss it and reconsider the idea.

So you spend significant amounts of money each week on 50/50 etc, but at the start of the season thought £8 to join a Supporters Club belonging to and run for the benefit of the team you support wasn't worth doing?
Out of curiosity, why didn't you join? (pm if you like). I haven't joined this season, and I have my reasons....but this arrangement r.e tickets is exactly the same as last season, so anyone that was around last season (and I presume you were) will be aware of the format, and the subsequent benefits of being in the SC?
Therefore, on that basis, surely it should only be the un-informed (e.g newbies etc) that should be remotely put out. Everyone had (and still has) a choice.....
Just done a big post in reply, and for some reason it would not send!!! So now, can't be bothered doing it all again.
Dubbsie, i appreciate what you're saying and also that the Committee Members should have first pickings at the tickets, after all, it is all of you that put in the hard work organising these events, but i still don't agree with basically whatever is left over, get's offered to the other supporters, who for whatever reasons, have decided not to join the supporters club, just my opinion.
Shelfer, I don't appreciate anyone telling me how i should spend my money to benefit the team, after supporting hockey in MK for 17yrs.

Mojo,
Whichever way we go, we'll get pillored by someone on one side of the fence. lol. Put them all on general sale immediately, and SC members argue that its an event organised by the SC so why haven't they been given the chance to buy them first; have a 2 week period for SC members only and non members argue that they also support MKL and should be given equal right to buy them. See what i'm saying..we can't win! oh, who'd be on a committee! :bruised: lol...
In my opinion, although i WILL NOT be quoted on this, but people that want to goto the end of season do will have the opportunity to buy a ticket for it once the details have all been finalised..
(and how bad is it that i have to put a disclaimer on there! is that me wishfully thinking that the event will sell out? lol....after all this, i'll probably forget to buy my ticket and i'll be left out in the cold staring in thro the window! lol :D)

I thought long and hard about where to put it but in the end decided as it the Award night for the team it should go in the MKL thread :)

I don't think this number is correct as when you ring as it sounds like a modem/computer line when it connects at the other end ....
