The MK Jesters take on Cambridge Eskimo tonight in MK. Not sure what our record is against them, I'm sure OhOh can prodive some decent stats.
Should be a good game either way.
Friday 3rd Feb, 23.30pm will see Jesters face off against long term rivals Cambridge University Eskimo. These two teams have met on an annual basis since about 2003 (and probably a few times before then). The last time these 2 teams met on 4th Nov 2011 saw the Jesters come out on top with a 5-3 victory, the previous three outings before this saw the balance shift from a position of Jesters dominance through a draw, a 5-6 Cambridge win to a Cambridge 3-6 win.
Current results against Cambridge show 9 games played, 4 wins, 4 losses and 1 draw. The Jesters will be icing a full 3 lines looking for a win to break out in front in the head to head.
Recent changes will see a couple of new Jesters making their home debut in addition to some returning faces, it will be interesting to see how the squad shapes up.
As usual all welcome, but wrap up warm the rink is cold at midnight at this time of year!
In the abscence of our regular disc spinner we are also looking for a DJ for tonight if anyone can help out?
Dude
(yes I did rip the majority of this post from OhOh's post for the 4th Nov game  )

10-4 Cambridge thanks to a flurry of late goals. Graham Clarke MoM for Jesters.

Scoreline definitely flattered them in a very heated and niggly game.
Cambridge decided to throw their body around early and when the Jesters followed suit they didn't like it, however we fell foul to penalty calls in the second and third period which ended up costing us.
Period scores were 3-3, 1-2, 0-5, with a 10-4 final score, a scoreline which would suggest a larger gap in quality between the 2 teams than was evident.
Still, we move on and there are some positives and negatives to take from the game. Jesters did a good job of standing up for their teammates, however we have an immediate need to learn to protect our house in games and stop giving the opposition an easy path to the net we've become acustomed to in our last several games.
MOM Graham Clarke who kept battling all night.

The ability between the two teams was certainly a lot closer than the scoreline suggests, But yet again jesters seem to love to impode on the bench when the going gets tough on the ice, No teamwork, bitching at each other and petty tantrums from senior members of the team,
Eskimo's played a team game and got the result because of it,
If Jesters were to play as a unit and not a bunch of individuals ! (granted there are a few exceptions) then they would have offered more of a challenge.
Just my opinion of course!!!!

I am remiss in saying thanks to those avid hockey fans and linesman parents who came down to watch, John, Darryl and Bennett for running the clock/well used penalty boxes, and for RadioRob for djing, thanks all!
